Community Health Awareness Initiative
Tanzania is a source of abundant and diverse natural resources, economic opportunities, and a wide range of impressive cultural creativity. It is ironic however; that most of her population lives below poverty line. Lack of or limited health care, education, and absence of market-driven economic activities have greatly contributed to the current abject poverty level.
BUTAMED Foundation was formed to foster the development of public health infrastructure utilizing local and international partnerships to improve the health of the people of Bukoba and Tanzania in general. We will achieve our goals through researching, training and promoting innovative healthcare solutions, investing in cutting-edge medical technology, encouraging interchange and partnerships between the people of Tanzania and the United States. Our efforts shall largely focus and aim at community grassroots, or, in other words, the most disadvantaged rural communities.
